Note: The "Familiarization Manual - Operation" is similar to Technical Order T.O. 01-20EF-1 but also is quite different in many areas and topics. According to the manual preface, the information is based on the first B-17 delivered to the Army Air Forces. The Familiarization Manual is also significantly different from T.O. 01-20EF-1 in the photographs used to illustrate control layouts and detail. It is probable that this documentation contains photographs of the first B-17F interior, exterior, and controls while documenting its performance. It is an important supplement to T.O. 01-20EF-1.
